The family migrated to Miami, Florida in December 2003 from Mexico. They currently live in North Miami, Florida. Robert graduated Miami Edison High School, attended Dade Junior College and University of Miami. Martha was born and educated in Mexico City, Mexico. Robert and Martha met in Playa Del Carmen in 1999 while Robert was working in tourism industry to promote and grow the area's tourism product. He was instrumental in branding and developing the area under the banner 'Rivera Maya,' which has since become a very popular tourism destination. Robert continues working in the tourism industry throughout the Caribbean region.
